"I may be an adult (ish), but I work and live with some awesome kids! This was a fantastic book for them! I read all about Rosie the Hippo and her adventure to not only my kids at home, but my 25-second grade students as well. They loved the pictures and the story line. It kept them intrigued and entertained while passing on a quite important message. The cute characters appealed to everyone of the 6-8 year-olds and the best part is, they understood the importance of the book! They understood Hornsby made more friends with a kind attitude than by being rough and tough."-Amber
"Teaching our children about differences has never been more important, regardless of where they stand on the ‘difference’ spectrum. We won’t always have children with open minds and hearts and it’s up to us to make sure humanity and kindness are words used in our daily vocabulary. That’s why, when my family had the opportunity to review Helen Hipp’s new book, “Rosie and Friends – One-Of-A-Kindness,” I jumped at the chance. This is a truly lovely book about a rhino who thinks he has to be tough but after an unfortunate accident suddenly finds himself with a new appearance and has to learn how to adjust and accept differences."-Tara Robertson
"Super cute book with a very sweet message. My daughter loved it!"-Lori Anne
"This was a sweet, short story about embracing your uniqueness and being kind to others. I loved the illustrations, the short activity at the end for kids that teaches you how to make your own horn, and the good message behind the story.
This is something I would definitely read to my kids on a Sunday and have fun making a horn together afterward. This book might also be read at school to children. It is short enough for having a brief discussion about it with the kids after reading and doing the activity at the end."-Andrea García
"This is a great book with such a great message. My kids are learning about kindness and treating others with respect at school and absolutely loved this book. My 7 and 9 years old read it to my 5-year-old and they all said what a great book it was and the characters are great!! They have all been rereading it for days!"-Rebecca
"Helen C. Hipp shares the adventures of Rosie the Hippo and her animal friends in her books, and this one deals with friendship, kindness, and the authenticity that comes from being yourself. In Rosie and Friends: One-of-a-Kindness, Hornsby Rhino damages his horn and has to consider what it means to be a rhino — and what really matters to him. He's helped on his quest by Rosie and TLC, the Tender Loving Crocodile, who help him discover the power in a gentler approach to friendships.Kids will love the story and the illustrations (done by Taryn Cozzy), and you truly can't beat the message that kindness, friendship, and being yourself truly matter, no matter what."-Angela Amman
